Description: These fractured remains near Voi remind us that brave souls died here to buy our salvation.
Layout:
Starting from the Mongoose in the upper left corner of the screen is one of the two bases (the other is in the bottom right of the image). The “Atrium” area (shown in Image 3) is a long lean hallway with a walkway that connects to the Pump Station building, a three story building with catwalks that exit to the Interior Base (again in the lower right corner) and second level walkways to the Shotgun (where the Bubble Shield sits. From Shotgun spawn, if players head to the left they’ll be able to stay on a path that feeds down into the Overshield and there’s a second level walkway overhead housing the Rocket Launcher and Grenades. Directly to the left and under the Plasma Grenades that spawn near the Rocket Launcher is a tunnel that curves behind and empties almost into the area where the number 2 Camera was taken. You can see the cave it empties from in the “Camera 1” image. The backdoor cave isn’t necessary to reach the base; you can also jump over a small ridge and some debris to reach that base.
The Pump Station building’s main room is a bombed out shell of a structure with "God Rays" filtering through the ceiling - and that top floor has a walkway that leads toward Sniper in the Atrium and a walkway (where the Brute Shot spawns) that leads to the Interior base in the lower right hand corner. That multi-level base has a few connecting walkways that lead to an elevated and dilapidated structure that overlooks Active Camo, and a Gravity Lift spawn and is positioned above a dark hallway that funnels into the Atrium. That Atrium entrance is the camera angle you’re seeing in the Camera 3 screenshot.
For the most part players have quick and dirty methods at their disposal, via quick jumps or equipment to get to the map’s second and third level catwalks and there are long sight lines from the Attackers’ base (Rocket Launcher side) down in front of Atrium and also down the Woods side (Shotgun side).
FFA Strategies
- In Ghost Town, this tactic can be used in various places. However there is one high traffic area that is perfect for this tactic. In the main building, the floor had caved in in one place, making a ramp from one level to the next. Behind this hole is a wall, then to the left a broken crumbling one. Outside that wall is the rockets and over-shield. If you sit and crouch facing the ramp you can wait for someone to walk up, and easily jump down behind them and score an assassination medal before they have time to react to your attack. Or you can choose to shoot at the person, either way works. You just have to be careful not to get ambushed by one of the four other doorways into that area, all of which your corner will have a perfect view of.
Team Strategies
- (This is a 4v4 scenario) From the pipe spawn, send one guy (preferably your CQC guy) through town hall and grab rockets, jumping to overshield and standing by until he has movement by the enemy. One he gets fired upon, he can grab Overshield for a couple seconds of invincibility and safety from Mr. Shotgun freak. He can then grab the shotgun, pick up the Bubble shield and provide close support in town hall. Send two guys into the Treatment Facility to secure the sniper rifle, and the last guy can just hightail it into town hall and stand by for his close support. I know Town Hall isn't that great for defense, simply because it has too many invasion points and you can hit nearly everything from every angle with a grenade bounce. That's where your sniper comes into play. He can monitor anyone coming from the factory towards shotgun/overshield spawn and give whoever is in Town Hall a heads up. He also has a long distance to cover inside the Treatment Facility for self preservation, along with his backup team member. 9/10 times, you have a huge split from the Factory spawn. One guy grabs shotgun, two goes for active and snipe, and the 4th guy just kinda charges into Town Hall on the top catwalk. This is why it's better to spawn by the pipes.
On the flipside, if you spawn at the Factory, grab whatever BR you can (assuming it's not Team BRs), the bruteshot, and if someone is good with it, the Needler. Then make your way to the power weapons if you must. - Author: MONSTER298
